I want to encourage any students in 3rd through 8th grade to spend some time brushing up on their music reading skills. Go to the "bookmarks" section to find interactive websites to help you learn and review your note reading, and a lot of other fun activities, too!!!

FINGERNAIL ALERT!!!!!!!!!! Please help your 3rd through 8th grade students clip their fingernails short. Long fingernails get in the way of putting fingers in the right position on the fingerboard. Violin, viola and cello players need to get used to well trimmed fingernails. One more time, clip those nails!!!

Parent Notes

Welcome back! I hope your summer was productive, eventful and most of all, FUN!! I moved to a new house, traveled a bit and enjoyed the warm sunshine. Students have been assigned instruments for the year and we are moving forward with string instrument instruction. Please support your children by listening to them practice and encouraging them to practice when they bring their instrument home. Help them remember to return the instrument on Monday morning so everyone has an instrument to play. I'm looking forward to a great year full of progress and great music.
