** There will be a Social Studies Test this week on Tuesday.  Study sheets should come home on Monday night.

**This week in math we will be working on pages 158, 160 and 162

**We have started our JA City unit!  This is a 4 to 5 week course that the students have to complete before we are able to go on our field trip to JA Biztown.  This is a wonderful program and I hope that you will ask your child lots of questions about what they are learning in class. There should also be some parent letters coming your way.  We will need a bunch of volunteers for this activity (around 40 for the whole fifth grade).  I will be sending home a letter about volunteering.  If you can volunteer this is an amazing expereince.  You won't be disappointed...a little tired maybe, but not disappointed.  Our field trip to JA Biztown is scheduled for January 21st.

**I have still not heard from any parents about volunteering to help for this activity.  I need a few of you to contact me as soon as possible so that this activity can be a success.  I need your help...I need one parent willing to bring a cookie sheet with thawed Rhodes Rolls, one parent to bring butter, one parent to bring honey/jam, and a parent or two who would be willing to come and cook the scones (you would need to bring a skillet and some oil).  If you could help out with any of these please let me know.  This activity will be held in the morning of November 25th.  Starting at around 8:45.  Thank you!

**Just a reminder that Wednesday, November 25th is a short day.  School lets out at 1:15.  Have a safe and fun holiday break with your family and friends.

**With cold season approaching we are still in need of tissues for our classroom.  It is amazing how fast we can go through a box when a few of us have the sniffles.  Thanks to those of you who have already donated!  Our noses appreciate it!
