Week #11 November 2-6

This week we will have Club Homework on Tuesday after school.  Please remember to have a signed permission slip in order to stay for Club Homework.  Homework includes a TFK on Bullying along with some map practice and math practice (multiplication and rounding).

Please make sure that you are reading every night, practicing your word flash cards (if you have them), and practicing your keyboarding skills.  Remember to get credit for your at home reading YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PLANNER SIGNED BY A PARENT OR AN ADULT LIVING IN YOUR HOME.  Home reading minutes count toward entries into the Road to Success Reading Program Annual Contest, monthly drawings, as well as 30% of your reading grade.  More importantly, the more you practice reading the better reader you'll become.

There are a few things I would like to mention that are coming up soon:

1.  If you haven't sent the recommended school supplies to school with your child I hope you will consider doing that in the next week or two.  The list is small, but it really makes a difference, with budget cuts I am spending more out of pocket this year for supplies for our class, so any help is appreciated. (See Parents Page for list).  We are currently out of Kleenex and Clorax Wipes so any donations would be appreciated.

2.  Parents, please make sure that you are listening to your child read each night for 20 minutes and signing their journal.  This is a big part of their reading grade and will help your child tremendously improve their reading proficiency.

3.  Please go over your student's Trimester Goals with them that we made during SEP conference.  We will be reviewing progress at our next SEP Conference in November.

NEW PTA HOME PARENT

Mrs. Boyack has volunteered to be our classroom parent for this school year.  She will be calling parents from time to time to help out with classroom projects, activities, and field trips.  Thank you Mrs. Boyack!!!!!
