Extra credit options for 1st trimester have passed. 


Journal Format; Platz Papier Procedures

Your journal should follow the format outlined below:

Date (left side, boxed)
1 (circled): Write down the homework and topics to study (located on the right side of the board in the bottom, right box); if I give further directions in class, you'll need to write them down here.

2 (circled): Copy the starter (located on the right side of the board in the bottom, left box), then follow the starter directions.

3 (circled): Take notes. Record any vocabulary or other items we discuss.  Complete the written homework assigned for that day.

4 (circled): Complete any written homework assignments that are given.


Continue on the same page for the next time we meet, using front and back of the paper.

Platz Papier: You will be quizzed verbally on assigned vocabulary during class. Please complete these tasks from memory. Then your partner signs the paper in the appropriate space and marks your score. If your partnership is on task and prepared but runs out of time to complete the tasks, write a note on your papers and notify me after class. Then make arrangements to meet with each other, with me, or with another classmate to finish before the next time we meet. When you're absent, arrange with me or a classmate to catch up on the items you need to sign off. When you finish up a sign-off for makeup or for late work, be sure to show the paper to me so that I can record your updated scores.

NOVEMBER

18/19:  Pass off song for extra credit.  Hand in Platz Papier.  Take end-of-trimester test.

16/17:  Pass off weather.  All groups present.  Practice song and all vocabulary.  Study for final test.

12/13:  Pass off days of the week and months; hand in Platz Papier. Practice weather.  Hand in practice sheet (last time).  Grade journal (B day).  Groups present for extra credit.  Get notes on "Head, Shoulders, Knies, and Toes."

10/11:  Practice days of the week and months.   Grade journal (A day).  Pass off colors 2 (we're not doing colors 1).  Get notes on weather and watch weather "Oh, nein!" story.  Groups:  Polish scripts, make copies, and start memorizing.

6/9:  B day hand in practice sheet.  Hand in using resources chart.  Pass off colors 2.  Take notes on days of week and months, and practice.  Groups: finish the outline and divide up the script.

4/5:  hand in online translator/dictionary assignment; pass off colors 1 and school supplies 2; colors "Oh, nein!" story; color, fold, and practice with fortune tellers; group project; state colors of school supplies at home; finish using resources chart

2/3:  pass off "Mein Hut" and school supplies 1; finish "Oh, nein!" story; group project names and assignments; supplies Memory; colors notes and coloring; finish online translator/dictionary assignment

OCTOBER

29/30:  A-day--hand in practice sheet; online translator/online dictionary assignment; school supplies flashcards; "Oh, nein!" story

27/28:  practice "Mein Hut"; arrange to use dictionary to look up five words; fill in dictionary column of using resources chart; get notes on school supplie

23/26:  pass off commands 2 and hand in Platz Papier, fill out "textbook" column of using resources chart, practice "Mein Hut"


Absent Work Procedure

1.  Check my website (http://my.uen.org/79194).  Good job, because you're already here!  Check the outline of what we've been doing to see what you've missed.

2.  Copy the homework, starter, and notes from a classmate.

3.  Double check the homework, starter, and notes from 1-2 more classmates to make sure they're accurate.

4.  Pick up any paperwork you missed from the basket on the back table on the left.  Make sure it's from the bottom basket, labeled in yellow.

5.  Hand in any makeup work to the basket on the back table on the right.  Make sure it's the bottom basket, labeled in yellow. 

6.  Arrange to take any tests or quizzes you missed within one week.
