**Please note: This page is a place where NSHS teachers can list MAJOR assignments. Routine, daily assignments are not listed on this web page.

Mrs. Albrecht

(As units are assigned, I will add the assignment/reading calendars to the folder on the right.)

  • Freshman English
    • Reading Counts: 15 points, due Thursday, March 11 (150 points)
    • SurprisedPlease Note:  Students are able to take reading counts points throughout the entire quarter.  The date listed above is the last day I will allow students to take a reading counts test.  Please help your student to be aware of this.  This date is currently on my board and will stay there all term.
    • Journals: (totaling around 100 points) due March 15
    • Please see the Monster Calendar in the Albrecht folder to the right for our schedule and assignments through mid-February.
  • Sophomore English
    • Reading Counts: 20 points, due March 11 (200 points)
    • Journals: (totaling around 100 points) due March 15
    • Please see the Fahrenheit 451 Calendar in the Albrecht folder to the right for our schedule and assignments through early March.

Mr. Hurd

  • Economics
    • State Exam 17 December
    • four required assignments to take the exam.
  • World Geography
    • Chapter Tests almost every week. (Review sheets are given one to two days before each test.)
    • Chapter worksheets are given with each chapter.
  • US History and CE 1700 American Civilization
    • Reading Counts 30 points per quarter due four days before the end of each quarter.
    • Chapter Tests almost every week. (Review sheets are given one to two days before each test.)

CE 1100 American Government

  • Weekly Political Cartoon due each Wednesday.
  • Chapter Tests twice a month. Review sheets are given prior to the test
  • Required Reading Assignments: Starship Troopers 1st Qtr and Anthem 2nd Qtr

Mrs. Kirkwood

  • 11th Grade Language Arts
    • Reading Counts Points (20) due mid-term -(Tuesday, February 9th)  40 total, due end of term.
    • We are reading selections from "On Walden Pond" by Henry David Thoreau, and keeping summaries and personal responses in a journal.  Grammar concepts are VERB TENSES.  Please practice perfect & progressive tenses.  Each student should have three Emerson quotes memorized.
  • Debate
    • ALL Specialty Events Due.  Richfield Tournament February 20th.  Region @ Grand March 2/3
  • Art Classes
    • Architecture:  First (basic) floor plan due.  Parade of Homes trip February 17th - $15.00 each. 
    • Foundations:  LINE
  • SPEECH/DRAMA & Activities 
    • Play Practice Friday AFTER School - Competition play
    • Find your I.E. event NOW (for competition)
    • Play Practice Wednesday (Feb. 10th) after School
    • Drama Social Wednesday night (Feb. 10th) @ 6:30 - Movie Night - HAIRSPRAY

  • Health Education 4th and 5th Period 4th Quarter
  • Syllabus singed by parent/guardian and student, due Tuesday January 20th.
  • Weekly Friday quiz (every Friday based on weeks learning, 10 points weekly).
  • First Aid Public Service Announcements due April 17th.
  • First Aid Module books due Friday, April 24th, worth 100 points (10 points per module). In-class first aid presentations will conclude Wednesday, April 22nd.
  • Home safety and fire escape plans due Friday, April 24th. Assigned to students on Wednesday, the 22nd. Worth 25 points.
  • CPR training and certification Friday, April 24th.
  • First Aid exam Tuesday, April 28th.
