Wednesday after school 7th grade Language Arts remediation:  Students needing help with current Language Arts concepts can stay after school on Wednesday afternoons from 3:25-4:25 to receive help or retake Language Arts tests.  The sessions will be held in  one of the Language Arts classrooms (6, 8, 9, or 10).

Curriculum change:

  • Spelling will be assessed differently beginning in January 2010.  There will be three spelling tests each 6 weeks.  The three tests will be the same format as the previous tests this year--10 regular spelling words and 5 words for those trying for a 4.  However, after the three tests, a cummulative test of 25 words from the previous three tests will be given.  The scores for the three regular tests will be posted as practice, and will show me and parents student's progress in spelling.  Only the score from the cummulative test will calculate into the grade for the Writing Standard.

MyAccess.com is currently available for writing practice and feedback for students.  Username is: first name + student id #.  Password is: 999 + last name.  EXAMPLE:  John Brown's username would be:  john12345678.  Password would be: 999brown.  Site is available 24/7 (except for routine maintenance).
