Extra Credit can be done for History. In the "Bookmark" portlet, click on 'Maya, Inca and Aztec - Meso America' or 'Mexico for Kids' and explore the site. Read up on the cultures and learn interesting things you can share with the class. Create a "Tourism Poster" displaying everything you learned from the site you chose. A "Tourism Poster" is an advertisement telling why you should visit their place. Your poster should have at least 5 paragraphs of information and 5 pictures, a Title and your name on it.
Extra Credit is available for the Maps and Globes unit. Click on the link "Longitude and Latitude - Crack the Code" in my bookmarks. Read the mission for "Crack the Code" and figure out the answer. Write your answer on a piece of paper, then, scroll down the page to younger and older Xpeditioners. Choose one of those to do and turn in your work. You can then, select another activity from the choices at the top of the page, for more extra credit. I hope you have as much fun as I did when you follow the clues!

Extra Credit is available for our classification unit in science. Click on the link "Unlocking the mysteries - Classification" in My Bookmarks. As you read through the presentation and click on through the pages, take yourself to the activity chart where you look at the pictures and classify the organisms. Print the chart and fill it out. Then, move on to the next page and work the Dichotomus Key. Create your own after trying out their "money" example. Turn in your work to me for extra credit before the end of the term.
You have an opportunity to retake the Science test on "Scientific Inquiry". Remember, I will not do this for every test, so it is a good idea to take advantage of this. When you have prepared, ask me to take the test and we will set aside a time during recess or lunch. The sooner the better whenthe material and first test are clear in your mind.
In the classroom, I have a file of science worksheets that can be taken home and worked on for extra credit. The worksheets are worth 5-10 points, depending upon the work required to complete them.
