The Milestones of Freedom Assembly is going to be an amazing event.  I am really excited for it.  I am a history major and love this stuff!  While I was in college, a class profesor of mine had us put together an assimilation of Ellis Island for Orem High School and it was great fun!  I sent your student home with all 10 citizenship tests.  They are to study them and be ready to take them at a moments notice.  They do not know which test I will give them and they have to pass the test in order to participate in the days events.  (Hint:  Everyone will pass!)  Look over the citizenship test and have fun with your student discussing the answers.  Our nation's history is quite a story!

Term 2 Book Report: The genre for the term is Science Fiction.  The book report form and project is posted in the portal for reading.  The report is due on January 8th, Friday.  We discussed how to do the report, the requirements and rubric for the report at the beginning of the term.

Reading: 20 minutes daily: You are required to have your reading chart signed daily by a parent and brought back to school. This is part of your Language Arts grade. I check for signatures randomly so it is best to always be prepared!  You may also choose to earn an extra reward each month by participating on our class reading blog.  Check out the 'Reading Connections' for more details on that.

Spelling: Week 11/9 - List T#3 - Students will take a pretest on Monday.  Those students who get 100% on the pretest do not do a spelling contract.  The list is found in the document portal under spelling.  The spelling contract is due on Friday.

Science: The Animal Mystery Game is due on Monday!
