This Week at School...
2 February, 2010We are excited to announce that we have a guest teacher in our class. Her name is Miss Brigid O’Donnell and she is a student at Westminster College. She will be with us for 2-3 weeks: observing, teaching, and learning. This placement is a part of her Social Studies Methods class in the Department of Education. We are very fortunate to have been chosen as the class with which she will work. We welcome her to our room!
29 January, 2010 It is amazing how quickly time passes! We are learning so many wonderful things in class! Have we told you about the plants growing in our classroom? As one student pointed out, we are growing a salad! Please ask us for the details and if time permits, come in and see our garden first hand!
We have been working very hard preparing for our dance informance. We hope you will be able to attend! What you will see is a review of numerous dances we have enjoyed all year. This will not be a formal dance performance. It will be like taking a peek at a typical, weekly, delightful dance lesson. Dance is one of our favorite parts of the week.
Fact Families have been a big focus of our math lessons of late. Please take a close look at our assignments so you know what we are doing and how well we are performing. Also, we have learned about equivalent names for numbers. This means that 6 is six, ******, 3+3, 4+2, etc. Help us be creative as we explore numbers and what they mean.
Thank you for your support of the food drive/service project and the PTA Reading Challenge! Your involvement makes a huge difference in our lives!
If you would like a preview of what we do in the spring, take a look at this link. This article was quite a surprise to me! The information came from an assignment I did in a post-graduate course. I am thrilled, humbled, and honored to have my class featured in this publication from Utah State University!
In honor of a particular basketball game this weekend.... Go Utes!
