Parent Notes

Math: will be daily from 11:00-1:00 with lunch included in that time. It will include a daily review, math facts, 3rd grade concepts, and problem-solving. Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach, Therefore, on Fridays from 10:00-10:45, math will be “just plain fun” things to do with all areas of Math. I want each student to love and enjoy math as much as I do.

Assignments

Math Facts will be passed off in eight stages. Students will be given a timed test each day.  They are given a certain amount of time for each stage to do 36 or 100 problems.  These facts count 1/4 of their grade.  Each stage is different.  Here are the stages and challenges:

 

Stage I:  Pass written time facts 2-9 (1/48 sec) + Everythings—5 min.

Stage II:  Pass written time facts 2-9 (1/30 sec) + Everythings—4 min.

Stage III:  Pass written time facts 4-9 (1 min) + Addition facts—1 min.

Stage IV:  Pass written division facts 2-9 (1/48 sec) + Everythings—5 min.

Stage V:  Pass written division facts 2-9 (1/30 sec) + Everythings—4 min.

Stage VI:  Pass written division facts 4-8 (1 min) + Subtraction Facts—1 min.

Stage VII:  Pass written (3) Factoring sets (2 min.)

Stage VIII:  Pass (3) sets of Reducing Fractions ( 1/30sec)
