This Week At A Glance...

Due to the short week- there will be no spelling words.  We will be practicing writing months of the year, instead.

Thank you, Mrs. Jurgens, for taking care of first grade book orders!

As cold and flu season approaches, we are in need of some items to help stop the spread of germs. If you can donate any of the below items, it would be greatly appreciated: disinfectant wipes or paper towels

Please DRESS for the WEATHER! We go outside daily. Make sure your child comes to school prepared for the cold. Please also label their hats, gloves, scarves and coats.

First Grade November Newsletter

Wow!  We made it through Halloween!!  A great big thank you to Mrs. Harrison for organizing our party and to all those parents who donated money, time and supplies to make it happen!

Please check the I Can list for all of the new units we will be learning this month.

Please continue to read with your child each day.  Remember to sign their homework folder so they can get credit for their reading.

Try a "theta scan" once in a while!  Right before your child goes to bed, have him or her look over spelling words, math facts or phonograms for a few minutes.  Studies have shown that this type of quick review helps the brain to transfer information into the long term memory during sleep.
I encourage you to give it a try!!

As always, feel free to contact me if you have questions, concerns or comments.

Your children are amazing.  Thank you for sharing them with me each day.
