Lindon  Computer Lab Instruction

Thursday: 1:00 - 1:30 pm Puckett, 1:30 - 2:00 pm Warnick, 2:00 - 2:30 Rogers 1st, 2:30 - 3:00 Swensen.

Week: Nov. 16th
Students will review the basic parts of the computer and then will do StarFall or another program listed below.

A. STARFALL.COM (http://www.starfall.com) - Students learn basic sounds of letters, along with blends, etc. They get to have fun activities to learn how to read. Wonderful stories are provided to help the students become excited about reading.
B. SEED BALL - (http://www.uen.org/tumbletown/) - You must click on the words, "Seed Ball", to get to the game. This is a fun problem solving game in which the student solves puzzles on how to get a seed to go through different pipes to a car below.
C. ANIMALS LOST AND FOUND - Students will try to find to find the correct pet with the right number of eyes, ears, and mouths.
D. MATH LINES - (http://www.mathplayground.com/math_lines.html) - You must click on the correct ball in the line that makes ten from the number you are shooting.

E. PENQUIN PARTY ADDITION - (http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/mathgames/popup/popup_addition.htm) - You must click on the correct penquin to feed him a fish (Correct math problem.)
F. CONNECTING THE DOTS Students will be working with number recognizing and clicking on the next consecative number.
G. DOODLE DOTS 2 The students counting by two's and fives', and also they will do alphabetizing with words.
H. PEARL SEARCH Students will work with Subtraction facts while getting the pearl from the correct clam.
I. PIN BALL SUBTRACTION Students will work with Subtraction facts while playing Pin Ball.
J. MaATCHING Students will match the equation to the answer in addition or subtraction problems.

Announcements/Parent Information

Computer Test - Students will need to recongize a specific part of the computer by name (such as: mouse, keyboard, monitor/screen, computer. printer, projector, etc.) The following links will allow students a study sheet (name of computer & no name of part-check against answer sheet, and Basic Parts Computer.mov(Quicktime movie) to review for the test or a web site to practice the test online as another method. Testing will start April 10 and the students will be tested individual at my desk. They will be told the name of a computer part and then they will have to point to the picture that represents it's name.
