Assignments

Friday, March 19

We had our first ID Quiz of the third trimester.  If you missed it, you will need to wait until our make-up day on May 13th to make it up.  We also end our discussion of the War to End All Wars.

By the way, I have decided to make the ID Quizzes for this trimester out of 30 points instead of 15.  This will make the reading quizzes of less relative importance.  I think that this will help most students.  I will still be dropping one ID Quiz and one reading quiz.

Thursday, March 18

We wrapped-up our discussion of how the U.S. got involved with WWI.  We talked about trench warfare.  Some classes began talking about the Treaty of Versailles.  If you missed it, you will need to get notes from someone.

Wednesday, March 17

Students handed-in their study guides for Chapter 31 (WWI) and took the reading quiz for that same chapter.  We continued our discussion of WWI.

Tuesday, March 16

We did a document analysis assignment.  If you missed it you need to get it and return it ASAP.  If you dilly-dally around it will be counted as late.

We did an object lesson about the beginning of WWI and began our discussion of WWI.

Monday, March 15

We talked about the Progressive Era.  Some students learned a lot and got all wrapped-up in the big ideas of the era.  Other students got all wrapped-up in a nap.  BUT -- those who paid attention really learned stuff!  If you missed it, you will need to get notes from someone kind.

Friday, March 12

Students handed-in their study guides and took the reading quiz for Chapter 29&30.  We finished analyzing and dissecting the DBQ packet and did a lesson the definition of the term "Progressive."

Thursday, March 11

Mr Gerlach handed-out a packet for the first DBQ.  We spent the entire class period discussing how to approach DBQs and analyzing the packet for the first DBQ.  The rough draft for the essay is due in Mr. DeMonja's class next Tuesday.

Wednesday, March 10

We watched a video about Theodore Roosevelt.  If you missed it, you will need to write one page about TR, his background, career and accomplishments.  This is in lieu of the assignment that was done by the students who were here.  We spent some time doing comparison and contrast regarding the foreign policy approaches of TR, Taft, and Wilson.

Tuesday, March 9

It was en eventful day:

  1. Mr. Gerlach took roll and the student created a new seating chart.
  2. We looked-over the new syllabus.  A copy of that syllabus is posted on this website.
  3. Mr. Gerlach handed-out some AP review books to students who wanted them.
  4. Mr. Gerlach bugged people about turning-in their old books.
  5. We talked about the AP Test and how to register for it: give $15 to Mr. Gerlach by Monday, March 22.
  6. We talked about the Renaissance Feast.  It will be held on May 7, 8 & 10.
  7. We did an overview of the 20th Century and major events and eras from that time period.
