We are all done with Romeo and Juliet. We will do a short poetry/short story unit for December, then I will be mentoring a student teacher in January. Thanks for all you do for your students!
Parents: I want to thank you for helping your students keep up on their
grades. As freshmen become more and more involved in sports and extracurricular
activities it is crucial that grades not slip. Sadly, some students get away
with it for a while then the reality of their situation becomes overwhelming.
If you don't already, please check their grades often. It is much easier to
address issues in a preventative way then at the end of term, for example.
Please note the SIS link. Please use it and look up your student's grades.
If I am not current, please email or call. I will do my best and hope to make
this a great way to keep up on your student's grades. Note how the grade is
broken up in standards. Those match the ninth grade core. This way we all know
how an assignment fits in what we're doing. I hope this is helpful. Again,
email if you have any questions.
Welcome parents to my Freshman Honors English page. I urge you to bookmark
this page and use it frequently. I update this every few days and it is full of
great resources.
Feel free to navigate around this site. There are links all over the place.
Note the calendar has links on the dates that are underlined. That means I have
added something to that date. I like to use the 'Month' tab. It gives you a
great visual of what is going on in class. All files I think you and your
students need are in the documents area. These will be removed at the end of
the term to make room for new materials.
I hope you are as excited about this page as I am. I am trying my best to
increase parent notification and communication. This is a great tool. If you
feel your child's other teachers ought to be using this, feel free to let Mrs.
Isakson know. (Personally, I think all the faculty should have a page they
maintain)
