When the student is absent, they have the same number of days they missed to turn in assignments and homework missed. For example, if the student missed two days, they have two days from when they return to complete and turn in all missed work.

If there is no name on the homework, the student will have an opportunity to claim the homework from the no-name file. Work claimed from here after the day it is due will be counted late. If a student is bringing home an extensive amount of homework each night, it is probably because they are not using their class time wisely. In addition, homework needs to be neat. If it is illegible, it will not be counted.

Late work is to be turned into the Late Work Basket with the date it is turned in clearly written on the top. If a student does not turn in their homework on time, they will lose recess on the day the assignment is due. The missing assignment may be turned in by the following Monday for ½ credit. If it is not turned in by the following Monday, it will be a zero.

Progress reports will be sent home each week on Friday. These reports will let you and your student know what work is missing from the previous week. The report needs to be signed and returned on Monday morning with any missing work students choose to turn in. If the work is not turned in on Monday morning, it will be counted as a zero. In an effort to help the students get caught up, students with missing assignments will attend Study Hall during P.E. on Friday. If the student is not missing any assignments, I will send home a different note, so you can expect something every week.

If the progress report is not returned with a parent signature on Monday, the student will lose a Jag Jewel for each day it is not returned until the next progress report is given. On the other hand, if the progress report is returned with a parent signature on Monday, they will receive 4 Jag Jewels. A Tuesday return will earn 3 Jag Jewels, Wednesday returns earn 2 Jag Jewels, and Thursday returns earn 1 Jag Jewel.
