Picture this:

Fresh flowers, decorative tablecloths, a yummy breakfast buffet, memberships cards, prizes, and discussions of the latest books.  This is where you will find Riverview Jr. High's Early Bird Readers, four times each year, in the library.  We meet once each term, and only members of the club are allowed to join the fun.  We would like to invite you to become a member of the club by dropping by the library at Riverview and signing up.  Choose a book from a selection of 10 to 13 choices, sign the register, check out a book at the Circulation Desk, and show up at the Book Club on the designated morning.  It's easy and fun! This year we will include one adult novel for our community members.

The next meeting of the Early Bird Readers Book Club will be on October 9, 2009.  Come into the library when school starts and pick out a great selection to read for the October Book Club. Doors open at 7:10 a.m. and the book club ends at 7:55 a.m.  The new book choices will be available on Tuesday, September 1st.  Because of budget cuts only three copies of each book will be available for checkout.  We ask that you check out only one book at a time, to give everyone a chance to read the selections.  See you soon @ the RJH Library.

Here are the choices for the October Book Club, 2009:

Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman - A clever combination of fiction story and the Internet.  I loved this book but, absolutely, do not watch the videos before you go to bed. Scary!

Bonechiller by Graham Mcnamee  - Another scary book and also an exciting adventure! Reminds me of the Chaos Code

The Graveyard by Neil Gaiman The Newbery Award winner!  Clever and scary!

Revenge of the Cheerleaders by Janette Rallison

Shift by Jennifer Bradbury I loved the lessons in this book.  Amazing!

Need by Carrie Jones The next Twilight. You might like it better.

Dracula by Bram Stoker A classic horror story everyone should read.

Into the Volcano ( a graphic nonfiction book) by Don Wood Amazing graphics!

Zorgamazoo by Paul Robert Weston A rhyming, dark, easy read.

Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary Pearson A science fiction novel that really shows what happens when you try to change the future.  I loved this book.
