You are able to register for a schedule that fits your life style.  You only need to register for 2 days a week or you can attend all 5 days.

You will just need to complete 80 of training- which includes 24 hours of on hands clinical training.

The Davis Applied Technology College is offering a Nursing Assistant (CNA) course with a choice of different start dates.  Registration for this course is available in Student Services. Students are eligible for a “Certificate of Proficiency” from the DATC upon completion.

Class Length               90 Hours

Costs: 

Registration Fee  $ 40.00* 

Tuition   $111.50

Monthly fee    $60.00**

Lab Fee    $100.00                                                                                              

Total     $311.50

Textbook not included (Approximate cost $70.00)

*Registration fee is non-refundable)

**$30 monthly fee for 2 months                        

Requirements: 

 

  1. All applicants must pass the required admissions testing to be accepted into the Nursing Assistant Course.  Students should study the sample tests available and prepare appropriately.

2.  After completing 66 hours of classroom training, students are required to complete a 24 hour clinical rotation at a local healthcare facility.  Clinical assignments are made through the instructor.

3.  All fees must be paid at time of registration.

 

Required Textbook: 

The required textbook is available at the Davis Applied Technology College Bookstore.  (Textbooks are not included in the cost of the course.  Approximate cost for the books is $70.00.)

1.      Fill out the College Admission form.  Computers are located outside of Student Services for your convenience or go to www.datc.net and select link: “Click Here to Apply for College Admissions” to complete the online admission application.

2.      Make note of your Admission ID number.

3.      Pay the $40 registration fee* to the cashier.

4.      Take ID number to Student Services for registration and course availability.

CNA daytime classes during the 2008-09 school year (High School Students)

Available class times are:

Monday-Friday                               

7:30 am- 10:30 am

Monday-Friday                              

11:30 am- 2:30 pm

     Fall Classes (1st Semester) will start Monday August 25th.

     Winter/ Spring Classes (2nd Semester) will start January 2009 

The C.N.A course is 80 hours of training with 24 hours of required practical training in a clinical setting.  Day programs are held August through May in conjunction with the public school schedule.  High School students must schedule two high school class periods on A or B day to receive credit for this class. 

 

 

 

 


Student Notes
 

Registration Process for High School Students:

 

1.     High School students need to have a transmittal from their high school to attend.  All High School students need to meet with their CTE Coordinator before starting their registration at the DATC.

·       Students are able to register for classes now, earlier you are able to register the better, so you are able to get the class you want.

2.     Students resistering for a daytime class will need to register for a class and a block set of time either A or B day- 7:30-10:30 or 11:30- 2:30.  If registering for an extended day class, the student can register for Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

3.     There are no variations in the time and classes because High School credit is available. 

4.     When registering for classes at the DATC, you need to register for either the fall session or the winter session.  You will have enough time to complete the class work and Clinicals in this period of time. 

5.     Make sure you register for a class that fits your school schedule.

6.     Orientation will be held the first day of class for DAYTIME students only.  This will be a group orientation for the CNA program and the DATC.  If registered for an extended daytime class, you must attend the CNA orientation before attending class.  You will not be able to attend class if you have not attended orientation

7.     All students will need to pay the CNA Class/Clinical Fee- $50.00 if needing CPR, $30.00 without CPR
