Parents,

I am so sorry for the delay in updating the website. There has been a lot of since the last post and let me fill you in. The first term is over and all is well. The students are making great progress and every student has made a lot of gain this year. We have completed several writing projects and we are currently working on a research project. The project is an ABC book that requires each student to do online research, book reviews, and or interviews. Each student is able to choose thier own topic which had to be approved by me and then they could start working on the project. Each page must represnt the letter and there must be a paragraph describing the word for that page. The paragraph can not be something copied from a book or the internet. It must be in their own words. The final project is currently due Nov. 30 (Monday). If you have any particular questions please feel free to email me or give me a call at the school.

Sience: Currently Mr. Freeman is teaching my students about moon phases and seasons of the Earth while I am teaching his class about heat, light, and sound. If you have any particular questions about that please notify Mr. Freeman or myself.

Math: We are ending another major unit on 2-D geometry. Both classes need to be able to find missing angles of various shapes, use a protractor, measure angles, find the area and perimeter of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles. Please help your child master these concepts.

Field Trips: We will be taking our first field trip this Decemeber. The students will be attending the Christmas Around the Work performance at BYU and then we will be visting the fine are museum on campus. The admission for Christmas Around the World is $3.00 and we are asking for a $3.00 donation from all of the parents. We know and understand that this is a hard time to donate extra funds for field trips; howeer, any amound you are able to give will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about this please feel free to contact me.

Grades: The online grading system is up and running and you should be getting information in the mail soon. If you need any help with the system please contact me and I am more then willing to help in any way that I can.

It had been a great year so far and we are doing some wonderful things. I hope that you are all seeing that and it is truely an honor to work with you and your children. Once again, I am sorry for the delay in updating this website. I will try and do better thruoghout the year.
