The following codes can help you as you check your grades in my classes:
- ABS = The student was absent the day the assignment was turned in. In most cases, it needs to be turned in as soon as the student returns to class.
- EX = The student was excused from the assignment. This does not hurt or help the student's grade. It is usually given when it is impossible for the student to make up the points.
- NHI = The student was in class and the assignment should have been turned in when it was due, but it wasn't.
- ( ) = No score has been recorded. This usually indicates that the assignment is not yet due or has not yet been graded.
