Welcome to Term 4! The following homework has been assigned:

4/2: Read to p. 200 in Welcome to the Ark.  Prepare to discuss the issue of individuality vs. community.

4/4:  Read to p. 222 in Welcome to the Ark.  Also read 25 pages (or more) in independent novel.  Reading Log 8 is due April 25.

4/7:  Finish reading Welcome to the Ark.  Complete Part I of Essay Worksheet; identify three symbols used in the novel, explain what they mean, and identify passages in the novel that employ these symbols.

4/9:  Complete Part II of Essay Worksheet:  Craft a thesis statement, find three quotes from the book that support your thesis, and write a rough draft of an essay supporting that thesis that contains three quotes and their page numbers.  Due Monday.  Study for Monday's quiz on Welcome to the Ark.  Read 25 pages in your Reading Log book for April.
